Job Summary
This is a job description for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Workshop Engineer. This role will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, calibration, and refurbishment of (parts of) medical devices and equipment in compliance with regulatory standards and company quality systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that medical devices and tools are safe, reliable, and ready for clinical use.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and refurbishment of (parts of) medical devices and equipment.
· Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration according to manufacturer specifications.
· Ensure all work complies with ISO 13485, FDA, MDR, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
· Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and traceability logs.
· Inspect incoming and outgoing equipment to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
· Identify root causes of test equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
· Assist in inventory management of spare parts and tools.
· Collaborate and assist with Field Service Engineers and Technical Support teams when required.
· Ensure workshop tools, field tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated
· Adhere to all health, safety, and infection control procedures.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· MBO4 or Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equal level of expertise by experience.
· 2–5 years of experience in medical device servicing or technical workshop environment.
· Strong understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and diagnostic tools.
· Basic knowledge of medical device regulations and quality systems.
· Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service documentation.
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· Proficiency in MS Office and service management software (Salesforce or equivalent).
· Good communication and documentation skills.
· Fluent in Dutch and English
Preferred Skills
· Experience (or familiarity) with calibration and validation processes.
· Familiarity with risk management principles in medical devices.
· Knowledge of ESD handling procedures.
· Experience working with medical equipment / in medical environment.

Working Conditions
· Workshop-based role with occasional lifting of materials / equipment.
· May travel from time to time to EMEA sites to assist Field Service
· Standard working hours with potential overtime based on operational needs.
