About The Role
The video editor plays a vital role in enhancing our paid media campaigns and organic social content. This full-time position is remote, allowing candidates to work from anywhere while being part of a forward-thinking team. The primary responsibility is to transform raw footage and creative briefs into compelling, high-performing video ads suited for platforms such as Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and other emerging social channels. The role requires a hands-on approach focused on execution, performance, and visual storytelling, with no filming or camera work involved. Success in this role hinges on editing speed, creative iteration, and the strategic use of AI tools to streamline workflows and scale testing without sacrificing quality.
Collaborating closely with in-house videographers, social strategists, and external content partners, the Video Editor will contribute to continuous creative improvement by optimizing pacing, storytelling, and visual effects. Qualifications
- Degree in video production, film, graphic design, marketing, or a related field OR 2+ years of hands-on experience editing video content for ecommerce or DTC brands
- Strong proficiency in video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or equivalent
- Experience with motion graphics and animation tools like Adobe After Effects or similar
- Ability to create static ad assets or graphics using Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or similar tools
- Understanding of paid media creative best practices, including hooks, CTAs, formats, and iterative testing
- Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, stay organized, and follow creative direction
- Receptiveness to feedback and ability to iterate creatively
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Edit short-form, scroll-stopping video ads for paid media across multiple platforms including Meta, Google, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging channels
- Transform raw footage and creative briefs into high-quality ad creatives optimized for performance
- Produce multiple versions of ads for testing different hooks, formats, CTAs, and aspect ratios
- Leverage AI tools strategically to enhance editing speed, automate repetitive tasks, and generate creative variations for testing
- Create motion graphics, animations, and visual effects such as text overlays, product callouts, and kinetic typography to elevate ad content
- Contribute ideas to improve ad performance through pacing, storytelling, and visual enhancements
- Support organic social content creation for platforms like Instagram and Facebook as needed
- Edit short-form videos to educate and support customers across the website
- Optimize creative assets based on performance data, testing outcomes, and brand standards
- Collaborate with marketing teams to review performance metrics and iterate on creative assets accordingly
- Maintain organized project files and a comprehensive creative library for easy access and version control
- Ensure all creative aligns with Doc’s Diesel’s brand voice and no-B.S. standards
- Execute projects efficiently within a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining quality standards
