KOMAN Holdings has a critical career opportunity for a Talent Manager with experience in the Construction and/or Environmental arena.

The Talent Manager will develop and lead the recruitment strategy for all subsidiaries for the Natives of Kodiak (NOK) and the KOMAN family of companies. The Talent Manager will source qualified talent, thoroughly vet candidates, and move them along the interviewing and hiring process in a timely fashion. This position will partner with leaders of all levels of the organization to accomplish staffing goals.

WHAT DOES THIS POSITION DO?

  • Lead and Grow the Talent Team: Manage, mentor, and develop one recruiting team member, and strategically plan for the expansion of the team based on organizational needs and impact.
  • Full cycle recruitment for all exempt, non-exempt, and temporary employees.
  • Work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers.
  • Recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Develop and maintain affirmative action program(s) and maintenance of records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  • Ensure recruiting team regularly updates and maintains all recruiting data systems, trackers and ATS.
  • Establish KPI's and metrics for recruiting team.
  • Maintain accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, hiring manager interactions, and other recruiting activities and decisions.
  • Drive continuous improvement around the recruitment process and workflow, including: the application processes, retention and recognition programs, enhance training programs and referral programs.
  • Research and choose job advertising options and rewrite job descriptions as necessary with input from hiring team.
  • Build Sourcing Infrastructure: Establish and refine sourcing processes, tools, and best practices. Evaluate and recommend new technologies and platforms to enhance our sourcing effectiveness.
  • Training: Train and empower the hiring managers and broader talent acquisition team on effective sourcing techniques and tools.
  • Stay Ahead of Trends: Continuously research and implement new sourcing methodologies, market trends, and competitive intelligence to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Talent Magnet: Leverage interpersonal skills to identify, attract, and persuade exceptional individuals to join our team.
  • Coordinate with department managers to forecast future hiring needs.
  • Participate in local and virtual job fairs and career events as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.

Education/Certifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field is preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or other Talent Acquisition certification is preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years progressive experience in Recruiting
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, or leading at least one direct report or small team.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling sourcing functions or initiatives and recruitment strategies within an organization.
  • Expertise in a wide range of sourcing techniques and tools (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, applicant tracking systems, specialized job boards, social media platforms).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decision-making and optimize processes.
  • Previous experience with recruiting construction professionals (Project managers, Superintendents, Estimators, etc.) is preferred.
  • Previous experience with recruiting specialized positions such as (Chemists, Geologists, Engineers, etc.) is preferred.
  • Relationship building, flexibility, adaptability, and persistence are key competencies for success in this role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local, state, and federal employment laws.
  • Strong computer skills including scheduling software and Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiations.
