Social Media Manager – Venues & Events

Location: Field-based across venues & Birstall (WF17 9QD). Travel across sites is compulsory.


We’re looking for a commercially minded, content-led Social Media Manager to connect our brands to real world audiences and turn venues into must visit destinations.

This is not a desk-based social role. It is a hands-on position sitting at the centre of brand, hospitality, and live experience; responsible for driving footfall, engagement, and commercial return across the GB Drinks venue portfolio.


You will be the physical and digital link between brand strategy and activation across:

  • Saltaire Brewery Taproom (Saltaire)
  • Black Sheep Brewery Visitor Centre (Masham)
  • Purity Brewing Co. Brewery & Taproom (Alcester)
  • Pure Craft Bar & Kitchen (Birmingham)
  • The Three-Legged Mare (York)

As well as trade activations, customer events, and brand-led experience, festivals and shows.


What you’ll do

Own venue social & content performance

  • Lead social media strategy across all venues, tailoring tone and content to each site while protecting brand consistency
  • Create high-performing content that drives awareness, engagement, and most importantly footfall and spend
  • Capture and publish real time, on-site content that brings venues and events to life

Turn venues into experiences

  • Translate brand campaigns into physical activation; making every event, night, and launch feel intentional and memorable
  • Build and deliver a calendar of activity across flagship events, seasonal campaigns, and weekly entertainment
  • Ensure every venue feels alive, relevant, and worth visiting repeatedly

Be the connector across teams

  • Work closely with General Managers on site to execute activity that performs on site
  • As part of the central brand and events team, you will collaborate to bring campaigns to life, with deep understanding of how a brand shows up and behaves
  • Support trade customers and external partners on branded activations

Drive commercial impact

  • Focus relentlessly on what works: footfall, dwell time, spend per head, and repeat visits
  • Use insights from social and events to continuously improve performance
  • Spot opportunities to turn attention into revenue


What you’ll bring

  • Proven experience in social media, content, or experiential marketing (hospitality or drinks preferred)
  • Strong instinct for what performs on social and what works in real-life venues
  • Confident creator; able to shoot, edit, and publish content quickly and effectively
  • Comfortable being on-site, hands-on, and embedded in live environments
  • Strong relationship builder across operations, marketing, and external partners
  • Commercial mindset. You understand that engagement must translate into revenue
  • Energy, pace, and ideas that elevate venues beyond “just another pub or taproom”
