We are now seeking a detail-oriented and student-focused Registrar to join our team remotely.

Position Overview

The Remote Registrar will manage all aspects of student enrollment, records maintenance, data verification, and transfer processing for Lexington County School District One. This role ensures compliance with district, state, and federal regulations while providing exceptional support to families, schools, and administrative staff—all from a remote environment. The ideal candidate is highly organized, tech-savvy, and committed to accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Enrollment & Records Management: Process new student registrations, transfers, withdrawals, and address changes digitally. Maintain accurate and secure electronic student records in the district's student information system (SIS).
  • Data Verification & Compliance: Ensure all student records comply with South Carolina state reporting requirements, FERPA regulations, and district policies. Verify residency documents, immunization records, birth certificates, and previous school transcripts.
  • Communication & Support: Serve as the primary remote point of contact for parents/guardians regarding enrollment requirements, school assignments, and records requests. Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and virtual meetings with professionalism and empathy.
  • Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate remotely with school registrars, guidance counselors, and administrative staff to facilitate smooth student transitions between grade levels and schools within the district.
  • Reporting & Audits: Generate and review enrollment reports for district leadership. Assist with internal and external audits by providing accurate, timely student data.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline remote enrollment workflows and reduce processing times while maintaining data integrity.
Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred)
  • 1+ years of experience in student records, enrollment, school administration, or related remote clerical role
  • Proficiency with student information systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, Skyward) and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive student data
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and organizational skills


Preferred:

  • Experience in a K-12 school district, especially in South Carolina
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Familiarity with state reporting requirements (e.g., South Carolina Powerschool)
Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: 52,000–

  • 52,000–78,000 (commensurate with experience)
