They are seeking a talented and results-oriented Regional EMEA Sales Director to oversee sales operations and strategy in the region. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the chemical industry, with a proven track record of successfully leading sales teams and achieving revenue targets. Strong track record of building future business through opportunity pipeline builds and execution is key. Reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Regional Sales Director will play a critical role in driving business growth, cultivating key customer relationships and identifying new market opportunities within the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver on objectives: Accountable for EMEA team delivering on key targets such as quarterly and annual volumes, revenues, pipeline build and pipeline execution.
- Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets in the EMEA region. Collaborate with senior management to define sales objectives, strategies and tactics.
- Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of sales professionals across multiple countries within the EMEA region. Provide guidance, coaching and support to ensure the team meets or exceeds sales targets and KPIs. Recommend and implement team structure optimization as best fit goals and market.
- Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify emerging trends, competitive landscape and customer needs. Utilize market insights to develop targeted sales strategies and product positioning.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong senior level relationships with key customers, distributors and partners in the region. Active involvement with key strategic accounts and oversee the resolution of customer issues or concerns.
- New Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand market share and drive revenue growth. Evaluate potential partnerships, collaborations and acquisition targets to enhance the company's market presence.
- Sales Forecasting and Reporting: Monitor sales performance metrics, including revenue, margins and market share. Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges and opportunities. Identify key problems and root causes to build and execute corrective action plans.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other departments, including marketing, product development and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of sales efforts with overall business objectives.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in the region. Identify and mitigate risks associated with sales activities, contracts and customer relationships.
Ideal Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Chemistry, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales leadership roles within the chemical industry, with a focus on specialty chemicals.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in the EMEA region.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team of sales professionals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable sales strategies.
- Proficiency in CRM software and other sales management tools.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., German, Dutch, French) desired.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the EMEA region.
