Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the rail industry
- Act as the primary point of contact for existing and prospective clients
- Conduct regular client meetings to understand business needs and identify growth opportunities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within rail accounts
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue growth
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
- Lead preparation of proposals, contracts, and pricing models
- Manage complex RFP processes, including compliance with rail safety and regulatory standards
- Negotiate commercial terms to secure long-term partnerships and large-scale deals
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, logistics, project management)
- Ensure successful delivery of projects on time and within budget
- Resolve client issues and maintain high customer satisfaction
- Stay updated on rail industry trends, regulations, and innovations
- Provide strategic insights to leadership on market opportunities and competitive positioning
- Track account performance, pipeline, and revenue forecasts
- Analyze financial and operational metrics to drive profitability
- 10–15 years of experience in rail industry sales, account management, or business development
- Proven ownership of large accounts ($5M+ portfolio)
- Strong experience driving large deals and complex sales cycles
- Experience working with rail OEMs, locomotive design companies, or infrastructure providers
- Demonstrated success in both account farming and new business development
- Deep understanding of:
- Rail operations (freight & passenger)
- Safety standards and regulatory frameworks
- Rail industry trends (digitalization, sustainability, automation)
- Strong experience in RFPs, proposal development, and pricing strategies
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Transport Management, or related field
- Master’s degree or relevant certifications (preferred)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong negotiation and presentation abilities
- Strategic thinking with a results-driven mindset
- Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
