Our client is a mining organization that’s looking for a Procurement Lead
The Procurement Lead is accountable for driving complex, multi‑stakeholder procurement initiatives, including high‑value and high‑risk RFPs, while maintaining strong alignment with key internal partners. The role is responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing strategies, negotiating commercial and contractual agreements, and managing critical spend portfolios to maximize value and mitigate risk. It oversees procurement activities across a broad range of mine operations categories, such as industrial trades, MRO, maintenance services, mobile and fixed plant equipment, haulage and site services, aggregates, fuels and explosives, logistics, and capital projects. Success in this role requires strong experience working closely with operations and managing procurement processes across multiple sites.
The ideal candidate will bring 8+ years of procurement experience, working closely with Operations and leading strategic sourcing across a range of industrial commodities. Experience in construction, mining, manufacturing, or oil and gas is strongly preferred, as these industries require a deep understanding of procurement processes and operational challenges. The role demands a proven ability to respond quickly to operational issues and develop practical, effective solutions. Strong experience engaging with maintenance teams and technical stakeholders is essential, along with the capability to mentor staff and act as a subject matter expert in procurement processes.
