About the Role
As an Onboarding Specialist at Datatruck, you'll own the full customer onboarding lifecycle — from kickoff to go-live, serving as the primary technical and project management point of contact. You'll translate business requirements into implementation plans, lead API-based integrations (REST/GraphQL, OAuth, SSO, webhooks), and collaborate with customer engineering teams to configure, troubleshoot issues, and validate data flows. You'll leverage AI tooling as a core part of your workflow and consult on integration patterns, scalability, and solution design to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You'll deliver tailored training, create enablement materials, and ensure customers are fully equipped to manage integrations post-launch. You'll partner cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success — advocating for the customer internally while keeping projects on track for time-to-value. Post-launch, you'll own a clean handoff, track onboarding KPIs, and continuously improve processes through automation and standardization as Datatruck scales.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end customer onboarding from kickoff through go-live, managing timelines, milestones, and stakeholder communication
- Own API-based integrations (REST/GraphQL) including authentication (OAuth, SSO), data mapping, and webhook configuration
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams to support custom integrations
- Troubleshoot integration issues
- Advise customers on integration best practices, scalability, and solution design supporting both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Deliver live and async training sessions for both technical users and business stakeholders
- Build and maintain onboarding materials including product walkthroughs, integration guides, and API documentation
- Perform pre-launch data validation, QA testing, and support customer UAT
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Customer Success to advocate for the customer and ensure smooth handoffs
- Track onboarding KPIs (time-to-go-live, CSAT, integration success rate) and drive continuous process improvement
- Leverage AI tools as a core part of your daily workflow
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in supporting customers with technical onboarding or implementations in a B2B SaaS environment
- Hands-on experience with API integrations, including authentication protocols and webhook configuration
- Experience using AI tools as part of a day-to-day workflow (personally or professionally) is required
- Has deep understanding of ticketing systems and CRMs like Zendesk, Hubspot CRM, Slack, and JIRA.
- Must be highly organized and self driven with project management skills to manage multiple customer implementations simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and engage confidently with customer engineering teams
- Experience working cross functioning with internal teams like the engineering, sales and support team
- Experience delivering technical training and creating enablement materials for diverse audiences
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success teams
Bonus:
- Prior experience performing this role in trucking, fleet management or transportation companies is a huge plus, but not required
- Experience establishing, building and implementing internal onboarding process and best practices while building internal knowledge based articles
- Familiarity with with Transportation Management Systems
- Has onboarded customers onto finance and accounting platforms
