Position Summary:
A Closer at Granite Bank is responsible for finalizing the loan process by ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory standards. This role involves close collaboration with loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to facilitate a smooth and timely closing experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assembling, preparing, and reviewing/verifying documents for a loan closing while ensuring all applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements are met.
- This includes but is not limited to:
- Review loan files to ensure all data is complete, correct and that regulatory compliance guidelines are met
- Communicate information or challenges to be resolved in a clear, concise, courteous, professional manner, and be able to provide clarification if necessary.
- Prepare an accurate and compliant Initial Closing Disclosure within TRID timeframes
- Monitor borrower’s receipt of Closing Disclosure
- Work with various title and escrow companies to coordinate closing numbers
- Deliver accurate, compliant closing package to title companies
- Review Underwriting conditions to ensure salability of loan
- Request and monitor wire requests
- Work with Post-Closing to satisfy any investor deficiencies in a timely manner
Experience:
- High School Diploma
- At least 2 years’ experience in residential mortgage closing
- At least 2 years’ experience working within Encompass LOS software
Skills:
- Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of different loan types
- Familiarity with closing in multiple states
- Experience with hybrid eClose, eNotes, and RON closings
