About the Role


We are looking for an AI Marketing & Operations Intern to join our team and help build and run the systems that drive how we find, engage, and convert new users. This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience working at the intersection of AI, marketing automation, and sales operations – in a real product environment, not a sandbox.


You will help set up and operate our Customer Conversion System (CCS) from the ground up, working across tools like Intercom and Pipedrive, experimenting with AI-powered lead generation, and learning how growth systems are designed when every decision matters.


What You’ll Do


As an AI Marketing & Operations Intern, your work will span three areas: AI-powered prospecting, marketing operations, and sales support. The balance will shift depending on what's most needed, but here's an overview:


AI-Powered Prospecting

  • Researching and testing AI tools and methods for sourcing new leads (e.g., identifying organisations that should be using Zimmerman tools but aren't)
  • Building and refining lead lists using AI-assisted research, public data sources, and domain-specific directories
  • Helping define and improve targeting criteria (ICP) based on what converts
  • Experimenting with AI-assisted messaging — drafting, personalising, and testing outbound copy
  • Tracking what works and feeding results back into the sourcing process


Marketing Operations (Intercom)

  • Setting up and sending newsletter broadcasts and cold outbound sequences
  • Managing contact data hygiene – tagging, lifecycle states, segmentation
  • Monitoring engagement signals (clicks, replies) and flagging high-intent contacts
  • Supporting the implementation of automation rules (e.g., high-intent click → sales follow-up)
  • Maintaining unsubscribe/suppression lists and ensuring compliance


Sales Support (Pipedrive)

  • Helping keep the Pro deal pipeline clean – updating deal stages, next steps, and notes
  • Resolving and creating organisations and persons in Pipedrive from inbound leads
  • Logging context from Intercom conversations into Pipedrive deals
  • Tracking deal outcomes and helping identify patterns in wins and losses


What We’re Looking For


We don't expect you to know everything, but we do expect curiosity, initiative, and comfort with figuring things out.


Required

  • Currently studying or recently graduated in marketing, business, data science, communications, or a related field
  • Genuine interest in AI tools and how they can be applied to real business problems
  • Comfort working with software tools and learning new platforms quickly (you don't need to know Intercom or Pipedrive – you need to be the kind of person who can pick them up)
  • Ability to work independently on scoped tasks and ask good questions when things are unclear
  • Good written communication skills – you'll be drafting outreach copy and internal documentation
  • Attention to detail, especially around data quality and process consistency


Nice to Have

  • Prior exposure to CRM tools, email marketing platforms, or marketing automation
  • Experience with or curiosity about AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for research or content generation
  • Interest in the humanitarian, development, or open data space
  • Comfort with spreadsheets and data manipulation
  • Any personal or academic project involving growth experiments, outreach campaigns, or automation

This internship is especially suitable if you're excited about AI, want to understand how marketing operations actually work behind the scenes, and prefer building real systems over theoretical exercises.

  • Duration: 5 months
  • Compensation: €500/month
