About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Generalist to join our dynamic HR team in McLean, VA. Reporting directly to the HR Director, this role is pivotal in supporting our HR programs, enhancing employee experience, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a trusted partner to both leadership and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience, supporting multiple HR functions to foster a positive and compliant workplace environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
  • 4+ years of progressive HR experience
  • Experience supporting multiple HR functional areas
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Experience with HRIS systems and data management
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Preferred certifications such as SHRM-CP or equivalent
  • Prior experience supporting federal contracting, system implementations, or M&A activities is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee and manager inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and employee matters
  • Partner with managers to address employee relations issues, performance concerns, and development needs
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching, documentation, and investigations
  • Assist in onboarding new employees and managing offboarding processes to ensure a smooth employee lifecycle
  • Support the development and execution of HR programs, initiatives, and communications to enhance employee engagement
  • Contribute to benefits administration activities such as enrollments, education sessions, and issue resolution
  • Collaborate with brokers and vendors to ensure effective benefits program delivery and compliance
  • Assist in maintaining accurate employee records and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Support HR reporting requirements, including EEO-1, ACA, and VETS 4212 filings
  • Maintain and audit HRIS data integrity, support system improvements, and analyze HR data for trends and reporting
  • Participate in organizational change activities, including integrations and employee transitions
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional development, recognition, and engagement programs
