As we scale, we are looking for a dynamic and well-connected Head of Sales & Business Development to join our founding team and lead the growth of our supplier and customer network.
The OpportunityThis is a rare opportunity to join at the ground level of a high-potential startup. You’ll play a key role in shaping our commercial strategy, building long-term partnerships, and driving revenue growth from both the supplier and customer sides.
You will have significant autonomy to bring your industry expertise, relationships, and ideas to life — with direct collaboration with the founder.
Key Responsibilities- Identify and onboard new ingredient suppliers and brands for Canadian distribution.
- Develop and grow customer accounts in food manufacturing, co-packing, and distribution sectors.
- Negotiate supply agreements, pricing, and exclusivity contracts with global partners.
- Lead the commercial strategy, including sales targets, margin goals, and go-to-market planning.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and supplier/customer meetings.
- Build and manage long-term strategic relationships to ensure sustainable growth.
- 10+ years of experience in food ingredient sales, trading, or distribution.
- Strong network of supplier and customer relationships within the Canadian or North American food industry.
- Proven ability to bring in new accounts or contracts from previous roles.
- Deep understanding of ingredient categories such as dairy, bakery, beverage, flavors, nutraceuticals, or plant-based proteins.
