About the role
The Head of Marketing will play a critical role in helping Onward meet and exceed its pipeline and merchant acquisition targets. Your role will involve crafting and executing strategies aimed at driving pipeline growth, enhancing overall awareness of Onward and ensuring our positioning resonates with our ICP.
GTM Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies and playbooks.
- Own the partnership, event, integration, paid marketing, SEO and affiliate channels.
- Set, track, and report on the KPIs and success metrics for each GTM initiative, identifying areas for optimization.
- Ensure pipeline and acquisition targets are met for these channels.
Product Positioning & Messaging
- Oversee content creation for owned properties (website, email) and our social media presence, including blog posts, case studies, how-tos, webinars and video content.
- Create engaging and persuasive materials for the Sales and Merchant Success teams.
- Plan and execute campaigns for new product announcements.
- Make sure our brand voice is consistent, relatable, and clear across all content and communications.
- Use data and customer feedback to improve product positioning and messaging.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with Sales and Merchant Success teams to ensure they are equipped with the tools and resources needed to communicate product value effectively.
- Establish mechanisms for capturing and incorporating customer feedback to drive product and positioning improvements
Initial Measurements of Success
As part of a fast-growing startup, your role will be unstructured and may shift day-to-day and sometimes hour-by-hour. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to perform any and all tasks needed to drive the business forward. You will learn what it takes to launch, build, and grow a startup from the ground up efficiently and effectively. No task will be too big or too small. You may need to do anything from responding to a merchant inquiry to presenting at a conference on the company's behalf.
