Head of Finance / Finance Lead
Seed-Stage Humanoid Robotics Company
We are partnering with a venture-backed humanoid robotics startup at Seed stage that is building next-generation systems at the intersection of AI and physical automation.
The company is developing general-purpose humanoid robots designed to operate in real-world, human-centric environments — combining advances in embodied AI, perception, and manipulation. With strong early backing and technical leadership in place, they are now gearing up for their Series A and are looking to bring in their first senior finance hire.
The Opportunity
This is a foundational hire, working directly with the CEO and founding team. The successful candidate will own the finance function end-to-end, with a particular focus on fundraising readiness, financial strategy, and building scalable infrastructure.
It’s a role suited to someone who has operated in early-stage, capital-intensive environments and understands the nuances of scaling robotics or deep-tech businesses from Seed through Series A.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising & Investor Readiness
- Lead financial preparation for the upcoming Series A raise
- Build and own the company’s financial model, including scenario planning and capital strategy
- Support investor materials, metrics, and data-driven storytelling
- Manage due diligence processes and investor data rooms
Strategic Finance
- Partner closely with the CEO on growth strategy and capital allocation
- Develop KPIs across R&D, hardware, and deployment
- Provide insight into unit economics, cost structures, and scaling dynamics
- Support strategic decision-making across hiring, expansion, and product development
Financial Operations
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Build finance processes, systems, and controls from the ground up
- Oversee accounting and reporting (initially hands-on, with a view to building a team)
- Ensure governance and investor reporting standards are met
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering and operations on cost modelling and scaling plans
- Support pricing strategy and early commercial deployments
- Contribute to supply chain, manufacturing, and partnership decisions
Candidate Profile
Required Experience
- Finance leadership experience within Seed to Series A stage startups
- Direct exposure to robotics, humanoid systems, or deep-tech / hardware environments
- Proven involvement in venture fundraising (Seed → Series A)
- Strong financial modelling and commercial acumen
Preferred
- Previous Head of Finance / Finance Lead / VP Finance / early-stage CFO experience
- Experience with hardware + software business models
- Familiarity with robotics deployment models (e.g., RaaS) or capital-intensive scaling
- Exposure to AI, autonomy, or advanced manufacturing environments

- Strong communicator, able to engage both technical and commercial stakeholders
- Strategic, but willing to execute at a detailed level
