- Watch short film scenes and break them down into structured visual beats
- Describe camera movement, framing choices, shot composition, and blocking
- Articulate pacing, mood, and emotional tone using purely visual indicators — no dialogue references
- Identify key transitions, visual motifs, and narrative reveals within scenes
- Follow standardized formatting templates for beat breakdowns and scene summaries
- Add clarity notes where visuals are ambiguous or require interpretation
- Maintain high consistency and quality across a large volume of scene descriptions
Who You Are
- Background in film, directing, editing, cinematography, or formal film school training
- Strong ability to analyze and articulate what the camera is doing — and why it matters
- Skilled at describing visual storytelling without leaning on dialogue or script
- Excellent structured writing ability with an eye for precision and detail
- Comfortable re-watching clips multiple times to ensure accuracy
- Experience with script coverage, storyboarding, or pre-visualization workflows
- Familiarity with scene structure, visual grammar, and storytelling fundamentals
- Background in film criticism, production, or academic film studies
