About the Company

The position is for a well-established Dutch manufacturer of high-quality automated analytical analysers, used worldwide in environmental, food, agricultural, and chemical testing. Founded in the 1960s, they have grown into a truly international business with subsidiaries and representatives in over 60 countries. With around 200 employees globally, their headquarters in the Netherlands is home to R&D, production, and global support teams.

As part of their continued growth, they are expanding their global service team (50+ strong) and are now seeking a new team member for their team in Sweden. This is the perfect role for someone with a chemistry background who enjoys hands-on technical work and wants to move away from day-to-day lab life into a customer-facing, travel-focused role.

The Role

In this position, you’ll be at the front line, supporting customers who rely on the company’s instruments every day. You’ll get to combine your lab knowledge with problem-solving and technical skills in a variety of environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Installing and commissioning analyser instruments at customer sites across Sweden and the Nordics
  • Training laboratory staff in system operation and basic maintenance
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance visits
  • Responding to service calls and troubleshooting issues
  • Using mechanical and electrical skills for fault diagnosis and repair
  • Writing clear service reports for each visit

Travel

  • Expect to be on the road around 80% of the time, both within Sweden and internationally.
  • This role suits someone who enjoys variety, independence, and customer interaction.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Speaks fluent Swedish and English
  • Has completed vocational training in chemistry or a related field
  • Has hands-on experience with laboratory instruments (analytical chemistry experience is highly relevant)
  • Brings at least 2 years of experience as a Service Technician or Service Engineer
  • Has an interest in electronics/mechanics and enjoys problem-solving
  • Works systematically and logically with strong attention to detail
  • Is communicative, proactive, and confident in front of customers
  • Has a full, valid European driving licence
  • Speaks fluent English

Why Join?

This role offers the best of both worlds – the chance to apply your scientific background while building a career outside the lab.

You can expect:

  • A varied, hands-on role with real customer impact
  • Regular training and career development opportunities
  • Modern equipment (laptop, iPhone, iPad) plus a company car (also for private use)
  • A collaborative, international team with flat hierarchies and space for your own initiative
  • A strong company culture with regular team events

Training & Onboarding

You’ll receive 4 weeks of intensive training at HQ in the Netherlands, learning the instruments from the ground up, from assembly to troubleshooting. Afterwards, you’ll shadow an experienced engineer on customer visits before taking on your own projects.
