Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Partnerships & Advisor Recruitment will report to the Chief Revenue Officer and is responsible for driving the firm’s inorganic growth strategy. This individual will identify, cultivate, and advance partnerships with financial advisory firms and individual practitioners who share our values and client-centric philosophy.
This role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution—designing and managing targeted outreach campaigns, building trusted relationships across the RIA ecosystem, and advancing high-quality advisor and firm partnerships. While integration and transition execution are led by dedicated internal teams, this leader will collaborate closely to ensure every new partner experiences a seamless transition into the firm.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Market Development
- Proactively identify and engage advisory firm principals, founders, and leadership teams whose client service models and cultures align with the firm’s strategic objectives.
- Design, launch, and manage structured outreach campaigns in collaboration with Marketing—focused on specific advisor segments (e.g., solo practitioner institutional consultants) and key territories (e.g., New England, New York, the Carolinas, Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida).
- Build and sustain strong relationships with industry intermediaries, including investment bankers, consultants, custodians, recruiters, and other centers of influence within the RIA community.
- Lead origination efforts for acquisitions, tuck-ins, and advisor affiliations consistent with the firm’s growth strategy.
- Maintain a transparent and disciplined pipeline management process, providing regular insights and reporting to senior leadership.
Advisor Recruitment & Relationship Management
- Serve as a visible ambassador of the firm’s brand and advisor value proposition within the independent advisory marketplace.
- Conduct thoughtful, personalized outreach and relationship-building with prospective advisors and teams exploring independence or partnership opportunities.
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Operations to evaluate strategic fit, preliminary economics, and alignment with firm objectives.
- Guide prospective partners through an educational, values-driven recruitment process that emphasizes transparency, shared purpose, and long-term success.
Collaboration & Strategic Alignment
- Collaborate with Integration and Transition teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience for new advisors and firms.
- Work closely with Marketing to refine messaging, strengthen the firm’s market narrative, and improve lead generation effectiveness.
- Contribute insights to the firm’s strategic planning process by monitoring M&A trends, advisor sentiment, and competitive developments across the industry.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in wealth management, investment advisory, or financial services business development.
- Demonstrated success in originating and advancing advisor recruitment or M&A opportunities within the RIA or broker-dealer space.
- Deep familiarity with RIA business models, succession dynamics, and deal structures.
- Established relationships within the financial intermediary community, including bankers, custodians, and consultants.
