Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Digital Marketing to lead our digital strategy and execution. This role is responsible for shaping and scaling our online presence, driving direct-to-consumer growth, and ensuring our brand remains at the forefront of the beauty industry.
This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role that requires balancing the visual, trend-driven nature of beauty with rigorous, data-driven performance. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in scaling D2C brands, leading high-performing teams, and translating brand storytelling into measurable business results.
This role reports to the Creative Director and Director of Marketing.
This role is open to both full-time and fractional candidates (approximately 20 hours/week or 2–3 days/week), depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing roadmap aligned with business, product, and revenue goals
- Identify and evaluate new online revenue streams and growth opportunities, including emerging platforms and marketplaces (e.g., TikTok Shop, Amazon, LinkedIn), and build strategies to test, launch, and scale them effectively
Performance Marketing
- Oversee paid media strategy and budgets across Meta, TikTok, and Google Ads
- Drive customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value with a strong focus on ROAS and efficiency
- Lead SEO, affiliate, and conversion optimization strategies
Social Media Strategy & Execution
- Own and evolve Gee Beauty’s social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Develop platform-specific content strategies that balance brand storytelling, education, and performance
- Identify trends, optimize content formats, and drive engagement, growth, and conversion across channels
- Partner with internal teams to produce high-performing, on-brand content that reflects the voice of the Gee women and resonates with our community
Brand & Content Storytelling
- Define and elevate Gee Beauty’s digital voice, visual identity, and editorial content pillars
- Ensure consistency and excellence across all digital touchpoints
Influencer & Community
- Build and manage relationships with top-tier influencers and creators
- Drive community engagement and brand awareness through authentic, strategic partnerships
Data, Analytics & AI Integration
- Monitor and analyze KPIs across all digital channels, leveraging tools such as GA4 and CRM data
- Translate insights into actionable strategies to optimize the customer journey
- Leverage AI tools and evolving technologies to enhance digital execution, efficiency, and personalization
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and grow a cross-functional digital team across CRM, social, and content
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture aligned with Gee Beauty’s values
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Revenue Growth: Drive year-over-year D2C revenue growth across e-commerce and digital channels
- ROAS: Achieve and maintain target return on ad spend across paid media channels
- Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC): Optimize and reduce CAC while maintaining growth targets
- Conversion Rate: Improve website and funnel conversion rates through testing and optimization
- Customer Lifetime Value (LTV): Increase LTV through retention, CRM, and lifecycle marketing strategies
- Social Growth & Engagement: Measurable growth across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn, including engagement and conversion
- New Channel Expansion: Successful testing and scaling of new revenue channels (e.g., TikTok Shop, Amazon), with clear contribution to overall revenue
- Email/SMS Performance: Growth in revenue contribution from CRM channels
- Content Performance: Consistent production of high-performing creative that drives both brand awareness and revenue
Qualifications
- Minimum 6+ years of experience in digital marketing, with 3–5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record scaling D2C brands, ideally within beauty, luxury, or aesthetics
- Strong expertise in social media strategy and content performance across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn
- Experience launching and scaling new digital revenue channels (e.g., marketplaces, social commerce)
- Deep understanding of digital platforms, including Shopify, CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot), and social media ecosystems
- Proficiency in AI tools and a strong understanding of their application in modern marketing
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset, with the ability to balance creativity and performance
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA is a plus)
Compensation & Structure
- Location: United States
- Compensation: Starting at $125,000 USD (or hourly rate for fractional candidates, based on experience)
- Structure: Open to full-time or fractional (20 hours/week or 2–3 days/week)
