Role Overview
The Chief of Operations will be responsible for building and leading the operational foundation of Open Ring as we move toward first shipments and early scale.
This role is focused on setting up the systems, processes, and cross-functional coordination needed to run the company effectively across operations, supply chain, logistics, hiring support, commercial execution, and day-to-day business management. You will work closely with the founders to ensure execution is structured, priorities are moving forward, and the company is operating with clarity as we grow.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership, bringing structure across multiple functions, and helping turn a technically ambitious wearable product into a well-run business.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and oversee the company’s core operating structure across supply chain, logistics, internal processes, and business execution.
- Manage relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, and external partners to support product readiness, production planning, and delivery.
- Establish and improve workflows for sourcing, procurement, fulfillment, shipping, and operational coordination.
- Support commercial execution by helping coordinate sales operations, launch readiness, partnerships, and operational aspects of marketing initiatives.
- Support hiring and people operations, including recruiting coordination, onboarding, and helping put strong internal foundations in place as the team grows.
- Drive cross-functional execution across product, engineering, external vendors, and business priorities to ensure timelines and responsibilities stay aligned.
- Create clear internal systems, reporting, and documentation so that critical company operations do not depend on founder involvement in every detail.
- Identify operational gaps, prioritize improvements, and implement practical solutions that improve speed, consistency, and execution quality.
- Serve as a key operating partner to the founders, helping translate company priorities into structured action.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in operations, business operations, supply chain, manufacturing, commercial operations, or other execution-focused leadership roles.
- Experience in wearables, consumer electronics, hardware, IoT, medtech-adjacent products, or other physical-product environments is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of building or improving operational systems in a startup or high-growth environment.
- Strong experience managing cross-functional execution across multiple business areas, with the ability to keep priorities moving in a structured and reliable way.
- Experience working with external vendors, manufacturers, logistics partners, or other third-party operators is preferred.
- Strong judgment, organizational ability, and communication skills.
- High level of ownership and ability to operate as a senior partner to founders and leadership.
- Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
- Startup experience is strongly preferred.
