Key Responsibilities
- Plan and create a shared data environment, including infrastructure, tools, security protections, and role-based access
- Collaborate on data architecture and design decisions to ensure business and technical requirements are incorporated
- Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, data models, and analytics structures
- Create optimized data extraction, transformation, and loading processes
- Develop and maintain documentation as the data environment evolves
- Support the development of data engineering and BI standard operating procedures
- Contribute technical input to data governance and strategic planning activities
- Provide work estimates and deliver implementation activities
- Work with stakeholders to ensure business requirements align with information technology requirements
- Ensure the data environment supports BI outputs for different levels of decision-making
- Support testing, data validation, go-live, and cutover activities
- University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive IM/IT experience, including hands-on responsibility as a data engineer or BI developer in a cloud-based environment
- Minimum of seven (7) years of experience working with healthcare data at a multi-facility or enterprise level
- Availability to start work on or about the specified start date
- Resume limited to five (5) pages, focused on scored requirements and deliverables
- Ability to work remotely and travel to New Brunswick at least once per month
Nice-to-Have Requirements (Scored Experience)
- Experience collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into data engineering or BI solutions (7+ years)
- Experience designing, building, and operating enterprise data platforms supporting reporting and analytics, including data warehouses or lakehouses (7+ years)
- Experience working with CIS data structures and healthcare reporting environments, with understanding of clinical workflows (7+ years)
- Experience implementing data security and privacy controls, including role-based access, encryption, auditing, and data masking (7+ years)
- Experience delivering data engineering or BI solutions using Agile/Scrum and/or Waterfall methodologies (7+ years)
- Experience implementing data quality controls such as validation rules, reconciliation checks, data profiling, and anomaly detection (7+ years)
