A high-growth, well-funded company operating at the intersection of technology, data science and natural resources is seeking an Associate General Counsel to support its global workforce and continued international expansion.
The business is focused on the discovery and development of critical materials essential to electrification and modern infrastructure, using advanced, data-driven approaches to improve how resources are identified and brought into production. With operations spanning North America, Europe, Africa and Australia, the company is scaling rapidly and building the infrastructure required to support long-term, global growth.
The Role
This is a senior, strategic position within a lean and collaborative legal team. You will advise on complex, cross-border employment matters and partner closely with leadership and HR to build scalable frameworks across a global organisation.
You will also play a key role in supporting IPO readiness from an employment perspective, helping to ensure the company is well-positioned as it continues to grow. Energy/Infrastructure experience is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on global employment matters across jurisdictions including Australia, Canada, the UK/Europe and Africa
- Draft and negotiate employment agreements, separation agreements and CIIAAs
- Develop and maintain employee handbooks, policies and procedures
- Provide guidance on immigration and global mobility matters
- Advise on labour relations, including union-related considerations
- Support and structure employee equity programmes
- Lead IPO readiness initiatives relating to employment, governance and compliance
- Partner with HR and leadership on strategic workforce matters
Candidate Profile
- 17–21 years of experience with strong international experience
- Educated at a top law school
- Trained at a top-tier law firm
- Significant in-house experience within a global organisation
- Deep expertise across employment law, employee relations and global workforce strategy
- Demonstrated experience working across multiple jurisdictions
- Stable career progression, with ideally 4+ years in key roles and clear advancement
- Candidate can be located in US, UK or Canada
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to intellectual property, data or AI-related employment issues
- Familiarity with securities or public company environments
- Broader compliance experience
