Assistant Project Manager - Water Treatment Facility

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of water treatment construction projects across the United States. This is a great opportunity for an early-career construction professional to develop their project management skills on complex, meaningful infrastructure - working closely alongside experienced PMs and site leadership to keep projects running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager in day-to-day administration and coordination of water treatment construction projects
  • Track, log, and follow up on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and correspondence to ensure timely resolution
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, cost reports, and monthly owner reports
  • Coordinate subcontractor scopes, procurement logs, and material deliveries in alignment with the construction schedule
  • Review and distribute drawings, specifications, and addenda to relevant project team members
  • Attend site visits, progress meetings, and owner-contractor meetings, preparing accurate meeting minutes
  • Assist with change order preparation, subcontractor pay applications, and owner billing packages
  • Maintain organized project documentation and filing systems in accordance with company standards
  • Support project closeout activities including punch list tracking, as-built compilation, and O&M manual assembly
  • Liaise between the field superintendent, project manager, and design team to resolve day-to-day issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent work experience
  • 2–5 years of experience in a construction project support or coordination role, ideally on water, wastewater, or heavy civil projects
  • Basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with subcontractors, owners, and internal teams
