Assistant Project Manager - Water Treatment Facility
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery of water treatment construction projects across the United States. This is a great opportunity for an early-career construction professional to develop their project management skills on complex, meaningful infrastructure - working closely alongside experienced PMs and site leadership to keep projects running smoothly.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in day-to-day administration and coordination of water treatment construction projects
- Track, log, and follow up on RFIs, submittals, change orders, and correspondence to ensure timely resolution
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, cost reports, and monthly owner reports
- Coordinate subcontractor scopes, procurement logs, and material deliveries in alignment with the construction schedule
- Review and distribute drawings, specifications, and addenda to relevant project team members
- Attend site visits, progress meetings, and owner-contractor meetings, preparing accurate meeting minutes
- Assist with change order preparation, subcontractor pay applications, and owner billing packages
- Maintain organized project documentation and filing systems in accordance with company standards
- Support project closeout activities including punch list tracking, as-built compilation, and O&M manual assembly
- Liaise between the field superintendent, project manager, and design team to resolve day-to-day issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent work experience
- 2–5 years of experience in a construction project support or coordination role, ideally on water, wastewater, or heavy civil projects
- Basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, and specifications
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Build, or similar
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with subcontractors, owners, and internal teams
